We’d love to introduce you to one of our incredible TBG teaching artists, Jean Taylor! Read our interview with her below…

What do you enjoy most about teaching?
JT: Teaching Theatrical Clown is about accepting your own beautiful ridiculousness, which in turn is a way to be fully present. Creating a space for students to experience and connect with their clown is pure joy.
What is a TBG tool you love to use in your own acting journey?
JT: Clown helps us embrace seeming opposites – vulnerability and resilience; humor and poignancy; and my favorite, that I take into the world with me, we are experts and we know nothing at the same time.
What is a project that you’ve been a part of that you are proud of?
JT: I am working on a series of short clown-esque pieces titled “Great Small Moments.” I am also part of an Intergenerational Co-Mentoring project that continually nurtures and surprises me.
