  • Online classes are offered via Zoom. Learn more about how our online classes work .
  • Specific zoom access information will be emailed to students 1-2 days prior to the start of class and again about 1-hour prior to the first class.
  • For privacy reasons, students are not allowed to take photos, videos, or screenshots of classes or students in class.
  • Using phones, texting, and online chats in Zoom are not allowed during class when students are actively working
  • TBG will record and share footage of classes in which watching playback is a necessary component of learning. These videos are for education purposes only and cannot be shared publicly by students. These classes include film/tv, on-camera audition, commercial workshop, self tape, solo show, storytelling, voice over, and master classes.

Fees/Payments/Credits/Transfer

  • All payments are non-refundable (unless TBG cancels a class).
  • Full payment or a deposit of 50% is required in advance in order to secure your spot in a class. The remaining balance is due before the first day of class; otherwise, the credit card on file will automatically be charged the balance on the morning of the first day of class.
  • Commitment is for the duration of the session. There are no credits or refunds for individual missed classes. If you discontinue any class before the ending date of the session, you forfeit your fee.
  • If you need to cancel a full class session (the full 6, 8, or 10 week class) for any reason, you must notify us by email at help@barrowgroup.org or via the customer support contact form at least one week before the registered class start date, and we will apply a credit to your account for a future class. Credits are valid for one-year.
  • If a student wishes to transfer to a different class, they must notify The Barrow Group by email at help@barrowgroup.org or via the customer support contact form at least ONE week before the first day of the registered class.  No transfers will be allowed after this.
  • A student may not transfer to a different class once a class has begun.
  • As our faculty are all working professional actors, directors and playwrights, we reserve the right to change teachers at any time.

Youth Students – ages 6-18

  • Our age groups are as follows:  Kids (ages 6-9), Tween (ages 10-13), Teen (ages 14-17 or 18 if still in high school). The age groups have been carefully selected based on the information presented and the structure of the class. Please register your student for the appropriate age group.
  • If a student will have a birthday during the class (most classes are 10 weeks), then the student is permitted to register for the next age group. For example, if your student is 9, but turns 10 during the course of the 10 week class, then the student can choose to register for a Tween class.
  • We recommend youth students begin with our Explorations in Acting Class, as this provides a great foundation for the craft and introduction to The Barrow Group approach.
  • For in-person classes, a valid government-issued ID is required to enter the building. Student identification is also accepted. Children under the age of 13 years must be accompanied by an adult with valid government-issued ID.
  • The registrant warrants that he or she is over 18 and, if registering for a child, is the parent or legal guardian of that child.

Absences

  • Class attendance is of the highest importance. If you must miss class, please let your teacher know.
  • Monetary credit or refunds are not given for missed classes.
  • Due to the nature of the classes, make up classes are not allowed.
  • If a student misses more than 3 classes in a 10-12 week class, or more than 2 classes in a 6-8 week class, the student must retake the class before moving to the next level or must obtain teacher approval before moving to the next level.

International Students

  • Online and in-person classes are available to international students
  • We do accept international students; however, we do not provide assistance with acquiring student visas.

Also, observers are permitted to attend the open / scene sharing portion of the final session of any youth class.
