In this workshop, guest instructors Zack Fine and Andy Grotelueschen, combine their experience in Shakespeare and clown to bring together exercises from both disciplines for an exploration into the world of Shakespeare’s clowns. Exploring Shakespeare’s language and clowns, we will uncover the rhetorical structures of heightened poetic texts and deliver speech on impulse while playing through the ears of the audience. Utilizing the tools of clown work, we will help you develop your spirit of instinctive play, spontaneity, and vulnerability.
Students must prepare a Shakespeare monologue for the workshop.
