Community Events

Community Events at The Barrow Group invite artists, audiences, and neighbors to gather in our 70-seat theater for evenings of connection, creativity, and storytelling. These events reflect the heart of TBG—where process is valued, voices are welcomed, and stories are shared in the spirit of curiosity and kindness.

Our community performances offer a chance to experience work that is alive, immediate, and rooted in the people who make up The Barrow Group.

Our Community Events Include:

Improv Saturdays
Playful, spontaneous performances that celebrate presence, listening, and ensemble. These evenings showcase improvisation rooted in honesty and connection—where anything can happen, and often does.

Fast Play Fest
A festival of short, original plays created and performed in a compressed timeframe. Fast Play Fest highlights bold storytelling, creative risk-taking, and the joy of making work together—quickly and collaboratively.

Student Sharings
Opportunities for students to share work developed in class in a supportive, welcoming environment. These events focus on exploration and connection rather than perfection, inviting audiences to witness the creative process.

Short Film Festival
A curated screening of short films created by artists from our community. The festival celebrates story-driven filmmaking and cross-disciplinary collaboration, offering audiences an intimate and engaging cinematic experience.

A Place to Gather

Whether you’re an artist, a student, or a first-time visitor, Community Events at The Barrow Group offer a chance to come together around honest, human storytelling—experienced up close, in a room built for listening.
