Online Screenwriting Class for Teens (ages 14-18)

The filmmaking process, whether for film, television, or online content, begins with writing a screenplay. In this online class, students will be introduced to the fundamental elements of screenwriting, including story structure, screenplay format, character creation, dialogue, and action writing. Through writing exercises, storytelling games and collaborative workshops, students will develop original ideas and complete one or more original short screenplays. Writing for film, online comedy content, and web-series will all be covered.

Instructor: Mark Grenier

Mark Grenier is an actor, writer, director, and teacher in New York
City. He teaches acting, filmmaking, improv, and writing classes at
The Barrow Group. He has also taught at the American Comedy Institute,
Annoyance Theatre, The Peoples Improv Theater, and Magnet Theater,
where he also served as training center director. Mark has conducted
classes, workshops, and professional development seminars for 20VIC
Management, Breads Bakery, Columbia University, Fairfield University,
The Ford Foundation, The Fulbright Association, Kaye Scholer LLP,
Marymount Manhattan College, The New York Film Academy, The North
Highland Company, Pearson Education, Twitter, WebMD, and others. He
studied acting at The Barrow Group and The Atlantic Theatre Company;
improv at The Upright Citizens Brigade and Annoyance Theatre in
Chicago; and filmmaking and screenwriting at the Feirstein Graduate
School of Cinema at Brooklyn College.

If you need to cancel a class for any reason, you must notify us by email at least one week before the class begins, and we will apply a credit to your account for a future class.
As our faculty are all working professional actors, directors and playwrights, we reserve the right to change teachers at any time.
Commitment is for the duration of the session. THERE ARE NO CREDITS OR REFUNDS FOR MISSED CLASSES. If you discontinue any class before the ending date of the session, you forfeit your fee.
