The Artist Performance Residencies empower artists by providing resources they need to more fully produce a reading, scene sharing, or small production. Artists are provided a TBG staff liaison, marketing and ticketing resources, front of house assistance, and the TBG Studio for one or two public performances.

In the Artist Performance Residency program, any NYC theater artists may apply to use TBG’s 40-seat Studio Theatre at no charge to rehearse and publicly present their own created work.  TBG staff review and rank those applications on an ongoing basis to determine which artists will receive a residency.

*TBG understands that space rental costs can be a barrier to entry for artists to share their work.  By donating space in this way, TBG seeks to provide access and give actors, directors, and playwrights the opportunity to refine their work while providing audience members a window into the process of developing original theatrical work.  The public sharings operate under the Theatre Authority Benefit Contract, and audience members are asked to donate a minimum of $10 to attend.  These contributions go directly towards the insurance and space costs of this program.
