This is a specialized script analysis class in which the focus is on one full play for the entire 6 weeks. The class begins with reading the play in class and then analyzing each scene for the structural and contextual elements. Next, students explore all choices that could be made when playing, staging, and/or auditioning for the play via working on scenes and monologues.
Each session of this class will explore different scripts. The scripts will rotate to include classic American plays, contemporary realism, non-realism, etc.
Winter 2020 Class – will focus on the 2016 Pulitzer Prize finalist and 2016 Tony Award for Best Play The Humans by Stephen Karam
