Weekend Teen & Tween Acting Classes

“The Barrow Group was really the acting institution that taught me how to act.  I worked with the best teachers…Lee Brock and Seth Barrish, who taught me why less is really more.”

For tweens (10-13 years old) and teens (14-17 years old), these weekend kids acting classes encourage spontaneity, simplicity and fun.  We begin with ensemble building games, move on to the basics of acting, monologues, and conclude with scene work (some class time will be devoted to students memorizing their texts).  We believe that to act is to PLAY, and that students learn the most in an atmosphere of relaxed positive reinforcement.  These classes are on-going and are designed to be taken multiple times.

Scene Study for Teens (14-17 years old)
Explorations in Acting is a pre-requisite to this class

This class focuses on scene work and script analysis.  Teens will be responsible for finding their own material to work on, and will be playing with multiple scenes and monologues.  It is designed for students seeking to pursue theatre in high school, college or professionally.  There is a high level of commitment required for this class, as it is modeled on our professional scene study intensives.
